Amazon.com Widgets Passionate Colors Newsletter ~  #70 ~ Negatives Negativity

"No matter what negative situation you are in, it's there for a reason; otherwise you wouldn't have it in your life... Love your negatives." ~ Louise L. Hay

Negatives seem like an odd thing to celebrate, but metaphysical teacher Louis L. Hay helped reinforce the idea that the less-than-positives in our lives are there for us to work through and learn from.

Easier said than done when you're dealing with a nasty person or situation. Or you're fearful of unknowns or failure. Why not bemoan the unfairness? Because the spirt deserves more, like the chance to turn a bad situation around, or an opportunity to transform a negative into a golden life experience.

YOU'LL DO BETTER...
"Dwelling on negative thoughts paves the way to failure. You have to save the analysis for later and tell yourself that you'll do better in the next event." ~ Rafer Johnson

British psychologist Richard Wiseman spent eight years investigating luck, why some are luckier than others. His conclusion? It is not intelligence or psychic ability, but a person's approach to life that matters. He devised four principles of luck:

1. Act on opportunities; 2. Listen to "gut feelings;" 3. Expect good fortune; and 4. Cope with bad luck by turning it around. Image how things could have been worse. Look at what could be done about the problem.

"I don't think there are any quick fixes. You can't just say 'cheer up'. The whole thing is about looking at living in different ways," Wiseman said. He estimated success in around 80% of his cases in helping people become "luckier."

THE KNACK OF RESURRECTION...
"We have also, of necessity, perfected the knack of resurrection. Over and over again we have been the living proof that that which has been exiled, lost, or found — can be restored to life again." ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes

I'm grateful to Joni, one of my dear readers who forwarded me a beautiful email from Jungian analyst Dr. Estes about the power of our spirit to rise up. "You have all the resource you need to ride any wave, to surface from any trough," Estes said.

And we can turn any negative into a positive! Here's wishing you joy and peace.
