Happy Valentine's Day, a day to celebrate passion and share the love in your heart!
Every year on this day, as part of a "Valentines for Vets" program launched by newspaper columnist Ann Landers, thousands of students across the country send letters to Veterans Administration facilities nationwide, celebrating the sacrifices vets have made for our country.
The valentine validations are magical. The gifts of love are enthusiastically written... and received.
"Everybody, from the biker vets to — well, everybody... get that twinkle in their eyes, and you know it really meant something," explained Stephen Molnar, director of the Honolulu Vet Center.
As writer John Andrew Holmes said, "There is no better exercise for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up."
