"Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons and you'll find that it is to the soul what the water-bath is to the body." ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.
In early July there will be 19 special listening parties for the album and three other new songs will premiere over AOL: "Lonesome Day" (online July 8), "Into the Fire" (July 15) and "Mary's Place" (July 22). After 48 hours at AOL, each will go to radio. A DREAM OF LIFE... The Rising is pretty powerful, about a firefighter climbing one of the World Trade Center towers just before it collapsed. Springsteen has said most of the new songs were written after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and that he wanted to capture "an emotional feeling… in the air at that time."
Truth, honesty, and something to face the world with… Bruce has always celebrated the redemptive passion of music, shedding light in times of darkness, renewing spirits and saving souls with Rock and Roll. A brilliant songwriter, in concert he has no equal. Bruce has never played Hawaii. My first chance to see a live performance of him was in Oakland, 1985 (Thank you Aunty Adeline!). Through the years, I've been lucky enough to make trips to see him live. Most memorable were the three shows I saw in L.A. in 1992 as a reward following my sixth round of chemotherapy. Most recent, in Charlotte, 2000. ~~~~~~~~~ MUSIC… MAGICAL! ALL GOOD MUSIC Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are planning a North American and European tour in early August. My birthday is in August. Guess what I want.
