"As you travel through life, offer good wishes to each being you meet. ~ The Buddha
EACH MORNING...
"Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most." ~ Buddha "The heart is like a garden. It can grow compassion or fear, resentment or love. What seeds will you plant there?" ~ Buddha At age 29, Siddhartha left his home and his family in search of meaning. Buddhist tradition calls this decision The Great Renunciation. For 49 days he sat under the bo tree, the tree of wisdom. Although demons tempted him, he resisted.
As he meditated, Siddhartha discovered that his knowledge transcended life and death... He reached nirvana, a state of complete peace, free of human limitations. With his Enlightenment, Buddha celebrated the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path. "Peace comes from within," he said. "Do not seek it without." With meditation, Buddha awakened a clear mind and a compassionate heart. browse celebrations by categories | newsletter archives |
