Toward the Spiritual
Goodbye Hangovers, Hello Life: Self Help for Women
"Maturity," she said, "is when we discover ourselves and remake ourselves from our own thoughts. Maturity is when we live by the truths that are in our heart and soul, truths we believe to be right for us." Inspired by philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, "Nothing can bring you peace but yourself. Nothing can bring you peace but the triumph of principles," Kirkpatrick created 13 Statements of Acceptance, affirmations for empowerment that help change negative thinking into positive thinking. "Life can be ordinary or it can be great," she believed. Given enthusiasm, passion, and a plan, each day CAN and WILL be a celebration!
"When we finally learn that we are not the center of the world and that self-inflicted pain produces nothing, then we are able to turn our eyes outward, toward the spiritual." ~ Jean Kirkpatrick
Dr. Jean Kirkpatrick founded Women for Sobriety in 1975 after years of alcohol abuse. Her New Life program has helped thousands of women throughout the world stop drinking, take charge of their lives, and grow in courage and self-confidence.
