April 27 ~  Deciding Five Dysfunctions of a Team

"Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide." ~ Napoleon Bonaparte

decisions

Are you in limbo over a decision you need to make?

A friend, about to make a life-changing decision, explained that the German word for decision, Entscheidung, literally means "one way."

One way, one choice...

There are no guarantees that every decision will come out the way you'd like them to come out. Outcomes are not controllable. Life is a series of decisions. The key to deciding is to take courage, listen to your heart, choose your path, then go forward, without looking back.

"Somehow we learn who we really are and then live with that decision," observed Eleanor Roosevelt.

The decisions we agonize most over, or those too hastily made, are the ones that can cause unforeseen consequences. If a decision is pending, get it out of your head. Write down your choices, the struggles, the gains.  This will help give perspective. Then flip a coin. Notice your gut reaction to the coin-flip result? There is your answer: you knew it all along.  Give your mind... and your heart peace.

Decide.
